I’ve started using a 20oz glass water bottle for drinking 4 bottles a day with my cancer meds, rather than purchasing/drinking from store bought plastic bottles. Glass bottles are breakable, so I was looking for a cushioned holder. I have an older brand of neoprene bottle holders that have held up for decades, but showing wear. I love the colorful options.I also love the idea that this one has an adjustable strap so you can carry it Crossbody when you’re hiking. I do wish the strap were wider and more comfortable, since when you have a full water bottle, plus the weight of the water bottle itself, it’s going to be heavy on your shoulder. Even an empty water bottle can be heavy on a long hike. I do wish it had an option for just a handle, like my older covers have. A shorter hand strap would do, because sometimes you’re just carrying your water bottle to another room and you don’t need to have it Crossbody.When I’m using this holder with my 9” tall glass water bottle, I have to turn over the lip of the holder and use the cinch tie to keep it flipped down, so I can take the lid off and drink from the lip of the bottle without touching the neoprene with my mouth. It works. However, when I use my stainless steel water bottle, it has a pop-up spout that’s above the top of the holder, so it works fine, and in fact since the lip is narrower on the metal water bottle, I can drink from it as well without hitting the neoprene with my mouth. Since the neoprene is so firm, the cinch tie doesn’t really do much because you really can’t cinch neoprene, however, it cinches just enough to secure your water bottle so it doesn’t slide out. I cannot speak for the insulating ability because I don’t care about that. I drink my water at room temperature.Overall, I am pleased with this purchase, and I had to knock a star off the rating for the narrow strap and the lack of a handle.
